Queens Park Pharmacy

Queens Park Pharmacy is a combined pharmacy and post-office located in Queens Park, Perth.

The design process was conducted in consultation with the client, who needed an efficient workflow system at the back-end and front-end of the retail and pharmacy functions of the business. This also required an understanding of Australia Post Office’s standard design guidelines and restrictions.

Issues and Challenges

The outlet has a pharmacy and post-office operating from one site and the owner wanted to move to new premises with distinctly separate areas for both functions of the business. The management of Diverse Shopfitters met the owner of the premises, who already had created a schematic drawing for the project. The Diverse Shopfitters design team used this schematic to design layouts and finishes and price the project within a tight budget. The Scope of Works was clearly defined, allowing the client to understand the proposed solution and how much it would cost. Due to their experience in this area, Diverse Shopfitters managed the approval process for the construction with the local council. The most significant challenge of this project was to deliver a finished solution within three weeks. During this time, power was not available to the site. Because the pharmacist was not able to trade during this period, fast and efficient completion of the installation was imperative.

Solution

The work areas were reconfigured and the design team developed a unique and effective storage solution. Once the Scope of Works had been agreed upon, the project was commenced.
