Fast Fit-out and Fast-food: a winning combination.

 
This McDonalds is a franchised outlet located on Ranford Road in Canning Vale, Perth. 

Issues and Challenges

This project presented a number of challenges for Diverse Shopfitters. After liaising with the architects and submitting a quote, Diverse Shopfitters were voted out of the tendering process for being more expensive than the competing tender. After two months, Diverse Shopfitters were re-engaged for the project as the other company had deliberately under-cut the other tenderers on their application and left out many extra costs and contingencies. Due to the busy nature of the fast-food industry, a tight timeline was imposed on the project. The predominant challenge for this assignment was to create an interesting and inviting design, whilst complying with the McDonalds’ generic fit-out guidelines.

Solution

Diverse Shopfitters designed an interior fit-out within the McDonalds Master Guidelines. This required continuous communication between the owner, architect and franchisor. The counter was particularly original, featuring a McDonalds logo routed into the front-panels on face of the counter, which was constructed from Corian. Diverse Shopfitters were able to solve a number of issues for the owner of the business during the design and installation process.

Benefits

This projected resulted in a simple yet impressive fit-out. The size of the store’s coffee and breakfast facilities was increased, as was the size of the ordering and selection area. The design process took into account McDonalds’ stringent workflow and branding guidelines. Diverse Shopfitters creative problem-solving approach allowed the owner to concentrate on running the business while they took over liaison with the architects and dealt with all interior fit-out issues. Diverse Shopfitters’ comprehensive project management process allowed the project to be finished on time and on budget, whilst minimising the disruption to the operation of the store.
